Education, Geriatrics, Ecological Agriculture, Tourism (EGET) Foundation’s most important objective is to provide scholarships to students who are financially struggling to pursue their education in consequence, serving the society in its cultural and scientific development. This item is stated as inalterable in Foundation’s Settlement Deed. The founders of EGET Foundation are Safai Özer and Özlem Uzman. Our foundation is established in 25-July-2015 in Muğla.

As founders and executives of EGET, we do believe that when their financial borders are eliminated the youth in Turkey are capable of succeeding in science,art and in business. For that very reason; considering the fact that education is the substantial necessity of this country, we aim to support our youth. In this way they will be able to receive the utmost education to take this country further.

As stated in our Scholarhip Guidelines, EGET Foundation is providing scholarships for these reasons: ‘Our most important goal is to provide scholarships to students who are financially struggling to continue their education. We aim to serve the cultural, scientific and social development of the society by increasing the number of young people benefiting from EGET Foundation scholarships. We expect the students to be respectful to human rights that are considered indispensable values ​​of modern civilization; we also expect them to devote wholeheartedly to the principles of secularism, republic and democracy. We believe that our ideal of mediating the development of our country is only possible with individuals who are respectful to nature and the environment; who have truly connected to their being, who are productive, creative, people that are self confident, that have moral values, that are disciplined, that can think universally, and are willing to improve themselves in this respect.

Apart from awarding scholarships, our Foundation has other goals such as: To prioritize the protection of nature and soil while creating development patterns through sustainable reformist systems in organic and sustainable agricultural applications. To encourage eco tourism, agro tourism and wellness tourism concisely sustainable tourism. To take steps relating to geriatrics and gerontology.

EGET Foundation’s headquarters are located in the historical district of Muğla called the ‘old Muğla’. We use a mansion built in 1894 as our headquarters. With the awareness of social responsibility, we renovated a ruined old building built in 1894. Thanks to our founder Safai Özer who is an architect specialized in the renovation of old buildings, the old structure is very well restorated and turned into a living entity so to say an organism thanking us for keeping it alive. EGET Foundation’s headquarters has 1000 sqm garden where we effectuate our ecological farming and permaculture practices. With the existence of hundreds of plants in the garden, it has the characteristics of a showroom where we display our agricultural endeavors.

Even EGET is a young foundation, thousands of students applied for our scholarships. The most important reason for this outcome is that the digital substructure is deemed very important. Starting from the very first year of awarding EGET scholarships, the scholarship application evaluations are made through a computer software. This software developed solely by the Foundation and in accordance with EGET’s Scholarship Guidelines eliminates any possible human error in reviewing applications. Our software is called ‘BUSED’ (Scholarship Holder Selection and Evaluation System). Through this software, we are capable of handling, evaluating and reporting thousands of data objectively and quickly in accordance with the criteria set by our Education and Scholarships Committee.

When we were setting up EGET Vakfı(foundation), our priority is to take measures for our foundation be a long serving one so that it could give more scholarships. Fort his reason, our structure is designed to create its own floating capital. In order to realise this, we invested in the subjects as mentioned in our name Geriatrics, Ecological Agriculture and Tourism. So as to generate continuous capital fort the foundation, a short period after our foundation is proclaimed in the officia gazette, we set up EGET VAKFI COMMERCIAL ENTERPRISE.

Starting from the very first day it established, the initiatives of EGET is out of the ordinary and uncharacteristic functioning of a regular foundation. Each step taken is to increase the number of students awarding scholarships. While accomplishing this happy duty of awarding scholarships, we chose not to perform with a system based solely on donations. We opted for to produce; to teach while producing; to carry out each production under the leadership of science; to win, and to transfer the earnings to scholarships.
