The Education, Geriatrics, Ecological Agriculture, and Tourism Foundation (EGET), which produces ecologically grown olive oil to fund educational scholarships, has added another award to its collection of accolades. EGET Harman olive oil, which previously achieved international success in Japan and the UK, was awarded the "Premium" prize at the olive oil quality competition organized by the Muğla Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry. Continuing its work with the motto "From nature to you, from you to education," the EGET Foundation allocates the entire income from its ecologically produced products as scholarships to university students at risk of losing their education. EGET Harman olive oil, produced from Memecik and Gemlik olives grown in the Yaraş neighborhood of Muğla, has once again demonstrated its consistency in quality with this latest award. EGET Board Chair Özlem Uzman stated that the award is a result not only of quality production but also of social responsibility, saying, “Every product we produce contributes to the education of more students. The greatest reward for us is seeing the young people we provide scholarships to graduate.” EGET olive oils have achieved significant success in national and international competitions in recent years. The foundation's products won four awards at the Olive Japan International Olive Oil Competition in Japan, two at the London International Olive Oil Competition, and one at the Muğla Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry competition. Furthermore, with EGET Blend winning a silver medal at the EVO IOOC Italy International Olive Oil Quality Competition, considered one of the world's most prestigious organizations, the total number of awards reached eight. Uzman also drew attention to Muğla's olive oil potential, stating that the awards obtained in international competitions are an indicator not only of EGET's success but also of the region's high-quality olive oil production capacity.
In addition to olive oil, the foundation also achieves success in regional products. EGET's geographically protected Ula garlic, grown in its ecological production area in Armutçuk, won first prize in the "Best Garlic Producer" competition held as part of this year's Ula Garlic Festival. EGET Foundation, which aims to promote Muğla's local values on national and international platforms through its ecological production model, continues to generate social benefit by transforming the income from agricultural production into educational scholarships.
