"We provided scholarship support to 290 young people"
Following the festival, EGET Board Chairman Özlem Uzman stated that the Armutçuk Agricultural Enterprise and lavender production hold an important place within the foundation's work, which is carried out under the slogan "From Nature to You, From You to Education."
Uzun stated that they demonstrated that lavender could be grown in Armutçuk and that they obtained oil and hydrosol from the produced lavender. She added that they process agricultural products grown using ecological methods, transforming them into high-quality raw materials, and that with this experience, they launched the Efilyun brand in Muğla.
Uzman emphasized that the main purpose of EGET's agricultural activities is to provide scholarship support to young people at risk of dropping out of education, and announced that they have provided scholarship support to 290 young people to date.
Uzun stated, "Our entire effort is to transfer the income we earn as scholarships to young people at risk of dropping out of education. Thankfully, we have been able to provide scholarship support to 290 young people so far. The main purpose of EGET's agricultural activities is to create a regular source of funding for our scholarships."
Noting that the Lavender Harvest Festival is also an opportunity to celebrate the transformation of labor into product, Uzman expressed his satisfaction with the event's contribution to Muğla's social and cultural calendar and thanked everyone who supported, participated in, and contributed to the organization of the festival.
