The Education, Geriatrics, Ecological Agriculture, and Tourism Foundation (EGET Foundation), which runs scholarship programs for students at risk of losing their education and dedicates all its income to this purpose, has achieved another success in olive oil production, one of its income-generating activities. EGET Harman won a silver medal at the EVO IOOC Italy International Olive Oil Quality Competition, considered the "champions league of olive oil competitions." With this award, EGET's olive oils have reached their eighth award, one national and seven international.

From Yaraş Neighborhood to the Whole World

EGET Harman olive oil, produced from Memecik and Gemlik olives grown in the Yaraş neighborhood of Muğla, has registered its taste and success in Italy, the largest representative of the global olive oil market, with its sensitive and delicate production process. The fact that the jury in this award uses a "blind tasting" method, meaning they score the presentations and tastings anonymously without knowing the brand or country of origin, makes the award even more meaningful. Following EGET olive oils receiving 4 awards from Japan, 2 from London, and 1 from Muğla since 2020 – awards that highlight their pursuit of top-tier flavor – their return from Italy, an award considered part of the "champions league" of competitions, demonstrates their consistent high-quality production. Furthermore, it proves that Muğla's olives are suitable for high-level production.

Özlem Uzman, Chairwoman of the Board and one of the founders of the EGET Foundation, emphasized in her speech at the award ceremony held in Palmi, Italy, that the EGET Foundation Economic Enterprise is a social enterprise that transfers all income from ecological farming to the EGET Foundation Scholarship Fund.

She also made the following remarks regarding the award: “We recently announced seven awards, one national and six international, including our silver medal from Japan. We are proud to have won another award, moreover in a ‘champions league’ type competition. EGET’s entire effort is for students. All these awards will be crowned when one more young person we support graduates. This is the sole purpose of our efforts.
