8 AWARD-WINNING EGET OLIVE OILS WILL BE CONVERTED INTO EDUCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS

EGET Harman, produced from olives grown in Yaraş neighborhood by EGET, won a silver medal at EVO IOOC ITALY, one of the world's two highest-scoring competitions.

The Education, Geriatrics, Ecological Agriculture, and Tourism Foundation (EGET Foundation), which runs scholarship programs for students at risk of losing their education and dedicates all its income to this cause, has achieved another success in olive oil production, one of its income-generating activities. EGET Harman won a silver medal at the EVO IOOC Italy International Olive Oil Quality Competition, considered the "champions league of olive oil competitions." With this award, EGET's olive oils have reached their eighth award, one national and seven international.

Özlem Uzman, who co-founded the EGET Foundation with the late Safai Özer and currently serves as its Chairperson, emphasized in her speech at the award ceremony held in Palmi, Italy, that the EGET Foundation Economic Enterprise is a social enterprise that transfers all income generated from ecological farming to the EGET Foundation Scholarship Fund. The expert noted the following in his evaluation of the award: “We recently announced seven awards, including one national and six international competitions, with our silver medal from Japan. We are proud to have won another award, moreover in a ‘champions league’ type competition. EGET’s entire effort is for the students. All these awards will be crowned when one more young person we support graduates. This is the sole purpose of our efforts. We believe that a modern country can only be built with good education. We consider providing equal opportunities to be one of our most important social and humanitarian duties.
