The Education, Geriatrics, Ecological Agriculture, and Tourism (EGET) Foundation, known for its work in education and nature conservation in Muğla, celebrated its 10th anniversary with a special event.
The event, held at the Muğla Chamber of Commerce and Industry, reviewed the work the foundation, established in 2015 to ensure equal opportunities in access to education, promote harmonious living in nature, and generate social benefit, has accomplished to date.
The event was attended by Muğla Member of Parliament Selçuk Özdağ, Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Aras, Menteşe Municipality Mayor Gonca Köksal Aras, former mayors, representatives of various political parties, heads of professional chambers and civil society organizations, and citizens.
The event began with the national anthem and a moment of silence, followed by a reading of the poem "Eleven Owes Him a Debt," written by Safaî Özer, an architect, writer, and thinker who recently passed away and was one of the foundation's founders, in his own voice. The musical performance evoked emotional moments in the hall.
“EDUCATION IS THE KEY TO SOCIAL TRANSFORMATION”
In her corporate presentation, Özlem Uzman, Chairperson of the Foundation's Board of Directors, evaluated the 10-year activities of the EGET Foundation. Highlighting the importance of education not only for individual development but also for social transformation, Uzman emphasized that they have built a sustainable and socially conscious structure so that young people can look to the future with hope.
During the evening, scholarship students also spoke, describing their connections with the foundation in their own words. Following the speeches, the students were given gifts consisting of natural products produced by the foundation's economic enterprise.
The EGET Foundation has gone beyond being merely a scholarship provider; it has implemented a holistic social enterprise model centered on education, ecological agriculture, healthy living, and social solidarity.
The program continued with warm conversations accompanied by a cocktail reception. A musical performance by the Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Quartet Group added elegance to the evening.
