EGET FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS
WHY DO WE PROVIDE SCHOLARSHIPS TO STUDENTS?
EGET Foundation provides scholarships to university students who face financial difficulties during their education. Our primary goal in supporting students in need is to serve the cultural, scientific, and social development of society.
We believe that supporting the upbringing of individuals who are deeply committed to universal values—such as human rights, secularism, and democracy; who respect nature and the environment; who are productive, creative, and entrepreneurial; and who possess self-confidence, ethical values, and a global perspective—is a direct contribution to the sustainable development of our country.
WHO DO WE SUPPORT?
EGET Foundation provides scholarships to successful undergraduate students who struggle financially to continue their education. Undergraduate students with a GPA of at least 2.5 are eligible to receive EGET Foundation Undergraduate Scholarships.
Scholarship payments are made monthly over a period of 9 months per academic year.
WHY ARE OUR SCHOLARSHIPS REPAYABLE?
To ensure the sustainability of our funds, EGET Foundation scholarships are repayable. Students who benefit from our scholarships agree to donate the total amount they received back to the EGET Foundation once they graduate and start working (beginning six months after employment). These repayments are then channeled directly into providing scholarships for new students.
WHY DO WE REQUIRE VOLUNTARY WORK FROM OUR SCHOLARS?
Students benefiting from EGET Foundation scholarships are required to participate in at least three days of volunteer work per year at a non-governmental organization (NGO) or a social responsibility project.
Our aim is for our students to experience the fulfillment of working for humanitarian causes without expecting anything in return before they start their professional careers. We believe that by volunteering for noble causes, our youth will strengthen their motivation and desire to produce social benefits throughout their lives.
HOW DO WE EVALUATE SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS?
Applications are submitted annually through our online scholarship application form during the period determined by our Education and Scholarship Commission. To eliminate human error and intervention, the evaluation process is conducted entirely in a digital environment based on objective criteria.
The BUSED System (Digital Scholar Selection and Evaluation System), developed by our Foundation, ranks candidates based on their responses. A "threshold score" is determined according to the number of applicants and the available quota. Candidates who exceed this threshold pass the initial screening. Following this, the documents uploaded by the candidates to verify their status are meticulously reviewed by the Commission. Finally, eligible candidates are invited for a virtual face-to-face interview. Once the interview scores are integrated into BUSED, the final list of scholars is determined and announced.
HOW DO WE GENERATE OUR SCHOLARSHIP FUNDS?
A significant portion of the EGET Foundation scholarship fund is generated through the investments and ventures of the EGET Foundation Economic Enterprise. Every product purchased from our Economic Enterprise contributes directly to the scholarship fund. By generating its own revolving fund, EGET Foundation rapidly increases the number of students it supports each year.
Furthermore, our scholarship fund continues to grow through the generous contributions of our donors and volunteers.
