OLIVE OIL IS TURNING INTO A SCHOLARSHIP

The Education, Geriatrics, Ecological Agriculture, and Tourism Foundation (EGET), operating in Muğla, provides scholarships to students using a portion of the income from the sale of olive oil purchased from the local population.

EGET President Özlem Uzman stated that they have provided scholarship support to over a hundred students so far, adding, “This year we are providing scholarships to 48 students. We are taking planned steps to be able to provide scholarships to thousands of students in the future.”

Award-winning brand from competitions

Uzman added that they market their olive oil under the brand “EGET Kuzluk,” saying, “Our brand won a silver medal at ‘Olive Japan 2020,’ one of the world’s prestigious competitions. We also won a gold medal at the Muğla Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry’s Natural Extra Virgin Olive Oil Quality Competition.”
