A SISTER TO MUĞLA PINE HONEY IS COMING - MUĞLA HABER

The EGET Foundation, which aims to set an example for local farmers by increasing the diversity of agricultural production in Muğla and its districts, has now established the first lavender field in Muğla among all coastal cities. The Foundation, which will also begin lavender honey production in 2017, continues to enrich agricultural production in Muğla.

In its 22,000 m² facility, the foundation's managers, who chose lavender and lavender honey as a second product alongside truffles, organized a Lavender Planting Picnic with the slogan "Let the Flower of Lavender Support Education."

Established in Muğla on July 25, 2015, the EGET Foundation made history last year by creating Turkey's largest private truffle mushroom farm in Armutçuk neighborhood. This time, a large group of participants planted lavender seedlings among oak saplings on the foundation's land.

Following the suggestions of Ula District Agricultural Director Süleyman Kurnaz, this project, which started in December last year, involved propagating mother plants from Isparta in a greenhouse environment for four months.

At the picnic, which was held in a joyful atmosphere, participants first planted lavender seedlings and then enjoyed a picnic with the supplies they brought with them. At the event, where new friendships were formed, participants also had the opportunity to learn about the EGET Foundation. The EGET Foundation, which considers setting an example for local farmers in terms of agricultural production diversity as one of its goals, has this time brought the first lavender field in all our coastal cities to Muğla. The Foundation, which will also begin lavender honey production in 2017, continues to enrich agricultural production in Muğla.

In the 22,000 m² facility, the foundation managers, who chose lavender and lavender honey as secondary products along with truffles, organized a Lavender Planting Picnic with the slogan "Let the Flower of Lavender Support Education."

EGET Foundation Board of Trustees Chairman Safai Özer addressed volunteers from Muğla's center, districts, and various provinces across Turkey, explaining the foundation's past achievements, projects, and goals. Özer stated that the Super-A type lavender seedlings obtained from lavender planted in greenhouses are sufficient to meet the needs not only of the Armutçuk Agricultural Enterprise but also of producers wishing to start lavender production.

The foundation will use the revolving fund generated from these productions to provide scholarships to university students facing economic hardship, starting from the 2016-2017 academic year.
