EGET Foundation Economic Enterprise was established to ensure that our Foundation can continue to provide uninterrupted support to education; its aim is to create a strong revolving fund through the projects and investments it develops.
Our economic enterprise's first investment was the EGET Foundation Armutçuk Organic Farming Enterprise. Located in Armutçuk neighborhood of Ula, our enterprise is established on a 22,000 m2 plot of land. On May 24, 2015, Tuber Melonosporum spores, also known as winter black truffles, were inoculated into the roots of 415 oak saplings purchased from Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University, Truffle Application and Research Center. TURKEY'S LARGEST PRIVATE TRUFFLE PLANTATION has been brought to life by our economic enterprise.
Our second initiative within the same company was to create the first lavender field in coastal cities. To efficiently utilize the space between oak saplings planted 6 meters apart, we chose lavender, a plant that is relatively easy to cultivate and thrives in calcareous soils.
On May 8, 2016, 2,600 Lavandula X Intermedia Super A variety lavender seedlings were planted in a 3.5-acre area, creating the FIRST LAVENDER FIELD OF COASTAL CITIES by the EGET Foundation Economic Enterprise. In October 2019, 2,300 Lavandula Angustifolia seedlings and 250 Super A variety lavender seedlings, grown from cuttings, were transferred to our land, increasing our lavender planting area to 7 acres.
In 2018, 7.8 kg of lavender oil was obtained from harvesting and distilling 215 kg of lavender seeds and stems;
In 2019, 25.24 kg of lavender oil was obtained from 463 kg of lavender;
In 2020, 25.87 kg of lavender oil was obtained from 500 kg of lavender;
In 2021, 21.7932 kg of lavender oil was obtained from 463 kg of lavender.
Furthermore, 33.500 kg of lavender was harvested from 2300 Lavandula Angustifolia vera plants planted in our field in October 2019, yielding 1.254 kg of oil.
In 2022, 23,453 grams of oil were obtained from 650 kg of Lavandula x Intermedia Super A lavender, and 4.215 kg of oil were obtained from 40 kg of Lavandula Angustifolia vera.
Instead of selling the lavender oil, which we obtain by distilling the lavender we grow in our own fields without using any chemicals and harvesting it by hand, in its raw form, we chose to transform it into value-added products. This choice gave birth to the EGET TEN brand. In 2019, we introduced six products to the cosmetics market under the EGET TEN brand: lavender oil shampoo, handmade bar soap, liquid soap, lavender cologne, toner, and pure lavender water (lavender hydrosol) with many different uses. With the oil obtained in 2019, we also added day cream, shower gel, face wash, and body lotion to our product range.
We also offer pure lavender oil in special dark-colored glass bottles with droppers. All our products are manufactured using natural methods as much as possible, in accordance with laws and regulations, and are marketed only after undergoing all necessary tests in accredited laboratories in compliance with laws and regulations. All of our EGET TEN branded cosmetic products are registered with the Turkish Ministry of Health's Product Tracking System (ÜTS).
In June 2022, our Armutçuk Agricultural Enterprise was awarded the Organic Farming Certificate. Our distillation unit, established to produce organic oil from our lavender, was also certified by the certification body Ecocert. Thus, our Economic Enterprise achieved another first by establishing Muğla's FIRST ORGANIC CERTIFIED DISTILLATION UNIT.
Our economic enterprise also sells seedlings retail and wholesale to farmers who want to create lavender gardens, as well as to individuals and organizations who want to grow seedlings as a hobby. Our economic enterprise also sells goji berry (wolfberry), thornless blackberry, and other ornamental plants and vegetable seedlings, which vary according to the season.
Our economic enterprise holds a Süsbir Membership Certificate and an Ornamental Plant Producer Certificate obtained from the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Muğla Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry.
Our economic enterprise has adopted the principle of respecting nature and the environment in every endeavor; prioritizing natural ingredients in every product it produces or has produced. We do not use chemical fertilizers or any chemical pest control methods in our own agricultural operations, and we believe that the soil from which we obtain our products must be carefully protected. Even in our choice of fertilizer, we use organically certified vermicompost, considered a miracle of nature in our soil.
We strive to be extremely careful and sensitive in every product we produce or have produced according to EGET Foundation standards; we have our products analyzed in authorized laboratories before presenting them to you. Therefore, you can consume all products bearing the EGET Foundation Economic Enterprise logo with peace of mind; and you can give them as gifts to your loved ones.
The EGET Foundation envisions a Turkey where financial hardship is not an obstacle to university education; where nature is protected through sustainable agricultural practices; and where modern tourism models are implemented for middle-aged and older people. With every product you purchase, you will be contributing to the scholarships we provide for university students.
