The Education Geriatrics Ecological Agriculture Tourism Foundation (EGET), which was established in Muğla to provide scholarships to low-income students and carries out exemplary work for farmers and industrialists with cosmetic products based on organic agriculture, is in the first lavender field of the coastal cities, which has an important place in the development of its activities. 7. organized a harvest festival for the first time.

EGET Foundation, which is held with activities combining agriculture and culture, has organized the 7th Traditional Lavender Festival attracted great interest. In addition to harvesting organic lavender, concerts and workshops for adults and children were organized as part of the event.
The festival, which took place on August 12-13, started with the lavender harvest in the lavender and truffle field of the EGET Foundation in the Armutçuk region of Muğla Ula. Participants picked organic lavender by hand on the first day. The festival ended with the Alp Özdoğan concert on Sunday, August 13.
As part of the harvest festival, the Perseid Meteor Shower Observation event was also organized on the same days.
Within the scope of the festival, workshops and trainings were held for children and adults on seed opu preparation, movement and coordination training, compost making from kitchen waste, drama and interactive storytelling, olive oil tasting, essential oil extraction and home use, information about bees and natural candle making, fabric and egg dyeing with plants, sky atlas making, natural plant pest control, breathing and yoga with Ahu.
Ms. Özlem Uzman, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of EGET Foundation, said the following in her evaluation of the harvest festival:
“EGET Foundation provides scholarships to young people at risk of dropping out of education all over Turkey. With a model that is an example for Turkey, we determine the students to whom we will provide scholarships based on objective criteria via computer. Whatever EGET does, our youth, our future is at stake. The only purpose of all our income is to reach more students.
Our lavender field is also a work of this understanding. 7. Once we were happy to harvest with the festival. We harvested our crops and participated in cultural events together with good, caring people. Our lavender is produced organically, certified according to European standards, and lavender oil and water will be produced according to the same standards.
