EGET FOUNDATION’S GREAT SUCCESS!

HEEFTA – Holistic Environmental Education from Training to Action, developed by the EGET Foundation, has achieved great success within the scope of the Interreg NEXT Mediterranean Basin Program! Our project was selected among 60 projects from 631 projects submitted by 15 participating countries and deemed worthy of support!
HEEFTA, one of the 7 projects supported in the field of youth within the scope of the Interreg NEXT Mediterranean Basin Program (Interreg NEXT MED), was among the 3 youth projects selected from Turkey. We are proud to be one of the two institutions in Muğla, the other being Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University, that received support within the scope of the program.
HEEFTA, an extension of the EGET Foundation’s youth and environment-focused work, is one of the starting points of our Foundation’s long-term and regionally significant work. With this project, which we have developed and presented in partnership with TED University English Language and Literature, the Academy of Life with Nature, it is expected that the EGET Foundation’s innovative approach in education and environment will also increase its impact in the international arena.
The study will be carried out under the coordination of our project partner Spain, and our other international partners are from Italy, Greece, Egypt and Tunisia.
Turkey’s participation in this program is a very important step in terms of contributing to the progress towards a more resilient, inclusive and sustainable Mediterranean. It is planned that this impact, which will be spread in our region within the scope of the program, will contribute to HEEFTA’s goals of strengthening regional cooperation for green transformation, developing approaches and solutions based on common understanding, creating an international network and supporting the development of green & blue skills.
We would like to thank EGET Foundation Advisory Board member Müge Bakioğlu, who is one of the architects of this success and who has undertaken the writing and management of our project and made great efforts for the success of the process, for her valuable contributions.
