Truffle Mushroom Orchard Was Set Up. EGET Foundation Chose Armutçuk Village As Pilot Area.
EGET Foundation, which has reached the final stage of its establishment, transferred the oak saplings infected with black truffle spores to the ground in Muğla-Ula on Sunday, May 24.
EGET Foundation managers, who aim to provide scholarships to high school and university students who have difficulty in studying due to their economic difficulties, state that they consider it inevitable to establish economic enterprises in order to create revolving funds for the foundation. The first agricultural enterprise of the foundation is in Muğla-Ula, Armutçuk Village. The oak tillers are transfered to soil under the supervision of Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University Truffle Application and Research Center Director Assoc. Dr. Aziz Türkoğlu.
In the 20,000 m2 facility, lavender and lavender honey will be produced as a by-product along with truffle.
On Sunday, May 24, the planting of the seedlings transferred to the field was carried out by the participants of this event.
The EGET Foundation Armutçuk Agricultural Enterprise, which will harvest the first truffles in 2019, aims to produce 200 kg of mushrooms annually from 2025.
Black truffle (tuber melanosporum), which finds buyers for an average of 1000 Euros in the world markets, will provide the foundation with a return of approximately 600,000 TL per year.
EGET Foundation also plans to establish tourism businesses focused on organic agriculture and geriatrics. Within the scope of zoning studies of Muğla Metropolitan Municipality, they plan to deploy these enterprises, which they have submitted for evaluation for an area larger than 200.000m2.
According to the written statement made by Özlem Uzman, one of the founders of the foundation, EGET Foundation plans to develop in two main branches, national and international, after completing its structuring in Muğla.. It is also among the plans that are planned to open branches in other provinces for projects on the national level, and to organize events to enlighten the society in the fields of organic agriculture, ecology, geriatrics and alternative tourism.
At the international level, it will be ensured that the developments are disseminated in our country by collaborating with scientists who are experts in their fields.
